why did you have to hurt me?
you know that wouldn't help me.
i wasn't quite right before you
and now i am worse
like everyone else, you hurt me too.
loving you is like a curse.
only a day before
i would've given all for you
but you brought me to my knees
i guess this much is true
something happened today
and you've gone away
like the old trees
i guess everything has to die someday.
so much for the birds and the bees...
today you knocked me down
and i've fallen to my knees
crushed and hurt
i'd be lying if i said
i felt any better than dirt.
inside i feel dead
overwhelmed with dread
drowning in grief
you are a thief
who has run off into the night
with my heart, still beating
to get it back, i don't want to figh
